Day 11 Ft Walton Beach

  A pretty lazy day has ensued this day.  Still with a sore throat, I slept in till the crack of 10-10-:30ish after Sammi left for work at 8.  She got home about noon and we grabbed a quick lunch and watched the US get whooped by Germany :-(  She showed me around the complex and I took a few pictures.  As you can see, it is SO much nicer than the last time Jenn and I visited 2 years ago.

The kitchen.  Its a cute, clean place about 20 min drive to Eglin AFB where she works.

  The highlight of the day was seeing my good friends, Jack and Kay Lancaster.  They came over to Sammi's and we immediately started getting caught up on all the old news.  We went to dinner at a cute steak house called Coach Plus 4.  (I guess in the old days, if you had a carriage and 4 horses pulling it, you were top shelf, or somebody that deserved the best - that was my history lesson when I asked to meet the coach ;-)

   We had a great meal with all the fixin's.  Rib Eye steaks all around with Corn on the cob, Twice baked taters, salad and bread.  That was after the Onion Rings and Mozzarella Cheese sticks as an appitizer.

   Jack and Kaye are doing great and it was sure nice to visit with them.  I will see them again on Sunday as they invited me to church with them.  For those of you that have not met the Lancasters, there is not a better couple to have as friends.  They both would do anything for anyone and it's my honor to know them

  They left about 9:30 (WAAAAAYYYYYY past Jack's bedtime) and it was a short night for me too.  I was asleep be 10:30 still working on this stupid cough.  I think it's going from hot humid to cold air conditioning to hot humid and back . . . .  Felt better this morning.
