Day 6 Arlington Texas (Between Ft Worth and Dallas

   She's a good looking bike, even at night!

   Well, After getting to bed at 2:15, in Abilene, I hit the road kind of late Sat morning.  I was hungry and had to pull over for a little - - -

   Ahh, that's the way to get the day started.  As I gassed up and climbed on to ride, the sky started darkening and yes, I had my first taste of rain, literally . . .   ;-)  The bike handled well, but there wasn't any sharp turnes on the freeway.  This is what it looked like out the front window . . .

  Not bad at all.  Everything stayed dry as I got rained on for about 4 hours.  Still boring across TX:

  This was the permenent view.  This and 

THIS!!!!  Forever . . .and ever . . . and ever . . . Handl probably wrote the Hallelujah Chorus from driving this TX road . .  :-)  as far as the eye could see . . .

   But I digress.  My plan was to stay visit Jaxon (Tabasco on the Super Tenere forum) but I forgot my timing and it was Saturday.  He's closed, so I called my two back-ups Jody (The Rock) Ashford and Chuck (Siggy) Fruend.  Sig was the first place I would pass on the trip so I pulled in to his house in Arlington (between Ft Worth and Dallas).  A beautiful mansion on a huge lot! 

The back yard was even bigger.  1 1/2 acres but looks larger . . .

  It's a hugh yard, green ,green, green. . .  And the inside is just as nice . . .

  We invited Jody Ashford and his wife over for steaks.  Sig and I ran to the store on the bike (his first ride in his life!!!

   It looked a little wrong, especially with my hand on his leg ;) but what the heck, it is Texas . . .  But in my defense, I did have a glove on, so . . . :-)

   Then the party started and the famous "Rock" and his beautiful wife Barb showed up! 

  He looks ready, doesn't he?  I have to slap him back, every now and then to keep him in line.  The next thing you know, he is talking trash about beating me AND Luke Jr at Ping Pong, at my house, on my table, calling himself, "The Cobra"!  I have no recollection of any such nonsense happening like that and then he poses in his famous ping pong "stance" ready to slam some imaganary ball . . .

   Notice the concentration . . . the poise . . . the Peace that Siggy is trying to instill on the chaos that is about to erupt!!!!  We had a great meal and wonderful time telling the same old stories, over and over again for the thousandth time!

Val have been the perfect hosts for the drop in traffic that was riding down the road. . . (OK, she didn't have any make-up on and this was the only shot I could get . . . Sorry Val

The Marine hospitality check:  OK, 3 wire. . .  In English, an "A+"!!!

   Got to bed at midnight and slept well!
