Nice Huh? so i ended up in the dentist office for a couple of hours to get my smile back!
Then it was back to Glenn and Kathleens to pack for the next leg of the trip. Here are a few shots of their lively house. . . It really was like staying at a resort!
Glenn and Kathleen, Thank you so much for you hospitality and kindness to a traveling friend. Love you all and say good bye to my 3 little buddies, Ethan, Landon, and Jersey!
After a great lunch at Pei Wei's, I hit the road. My Plan was to visit an old friend and his wife, Spike and Rhonda Valentino, in Tuscon, but they were out of town in St Louis, MO. So I headed out towards Texas via Globe AZ, The Copper Producer of the World? (A big claim, and the strip mines were everywhere . . . so, maybe . . .)
It was a beautiful ride, much better than the Interstate and just about as quick. . . Here are a few shots I took when I could. There were a couple of mountain ranges with twisties and whoop-de-do's that I couldn't film, but beautiful, in a desert sort of way ;
As you can see, a beautiful day for riding, just HOT!!!!! I think I drank 2 gallons of water when I stopped! ;)
Then the scenery didn't change but the state did . . . :-)
and
Then more of this . . . :-)
I ran out of steam about 10pm and stopped at a La quinta Inn, great price for the military discount. I parked out front
And put the cover on. The all night security guard was a former Marine 0311 grunt and said he would guard my bike with his life! I slipped him $10 . . . and thanked him for his service ;-:
I just did some checking and my plans to go to San Antoino/Austin are off. I was going to see Jaxon (Tabasco on the forum) but he lives in Ft Worth not Austin . . . SO I'm again changing my route to go VFR direct DFW where I'm going to visit him, Siggy and Rock. But that's a 10-12 hour ride from here . . . That Texas is sure a big a** state. They ought to be their own country . . . Wait, didn't somebody think of that already?
I woke up this morning to get a text from my brother, Snake he sent this . . .
And said, " an early dawn departure. That's a pretty shot. . . You be safe my brother!
OK, I'm hitting the road to chew up a few of those 12 hours to get half way across that big a** state. I'll let you know how it goes tonight.
Luke Out.... ;-)
