Day 2 Phoenix AZ

Lazily slept in until the crack of 9. . .  Boy did that feel good . . .  Glenn and Kathleen are wonderful hosts.  I had a fresh egg and cheese omelet with squeezed tangerine juice and gluten free toast with jelly waiting at my breakfast table . . .  That's how you start a morning on vacation ;-)
We packed their beautiful 21 foot Sea Ray (the best boat money can buy) and headed to Lake Saguaro, about 40 minutes away.  The water was a nice 84 degrees, not quite my favorite temperature - that would be "Luke Warm ;-) but I got in anyway.
Ethan on the right and Landon in the middle
We had our own beach to swim and throw the ball the "Jersey" their Labradoodle (sp)
We got Landon (the 5 year old) up on the knee board for the first time.
Me and my buddy driving the boat
Kathleen and "Jersey"
The Captain and his Mate!
We got off the lake about 3:30 and drove home.  Ethan had a swimming lesson.  I got sort-of a little nap, as my new 5 year old buddy showed me the finer points of all his Transformers.  I found out the Transformer claw hand will grab your nose if your not on guard at all times!!!  This Landon is the cutest kid with a wonderful vocabulary, succinct in every syllable!
They took me out to eat at a place called Fire Birds.  We had salad and wings and topped off the night with a Barnes and Noble run for a big map of the US, the Lego Land store, and a cold U-Swirl to round off a perfect day.  Thanks Glenn and Kathleen.  The 5 year old was dying and fell asleep and Ethan, the 8 year old hung in there the whole day.  I laid on the bed with Ethan for a bit as he explained all the aircraft hanging from his ceiling, what country they were from, and what war they fought in . . .  A VERY smart 8 year old, thanks to Glenn's teachings.  These two kids ask very mature questions, and he gives them the best answers I've heard in a long time.  Glenn is a natural born teacher.  At dinner, we were talking about the Romanov daughter that might have lived, and the term DNA was brought up.  The next thing you know, Glenn had the napkins out, spelling out what DNA stands for. And I kid you not, Ethan, the 8 year old, grabbed a crayon, and on a napkin, drew the spiral helix of a DNA coil, with the bridges connecting the two spirals .  Eight years old I say!!!
OK, this is only my second time at blogging in my life, so i'll get better!  I miss all of you out there reading this, but am having a GREAT time on vacation.  Love you all. . .  Luke - out
