Day 16 - Tuesday, 1 June 2014 - Bradenton Florida - 3131miles

The plan was to leave Sammi's early to make it to Tampa early, but the best laid plans . . .  Sammi woke up very sick, still running a 102 temp and I was very weak and sore in my joints and muscles.  This started the night before, so I got Sammi up and we went to the club house for her apts, and got in the sauna.  I put the temp at 170 degrees and we stayed in there for 20 min pouring water on the rocks.  It cured me but did nothing for Sammi.  I got up fairly early still aching, but a couple of those magic Motrin pills and I was off to the races.  I got some clothes washed, but the dryer hose was broken to Sammi's dryer, so I had to dry them at the club house, and then I started packing.
I went through my gear and pulled 28 pounds of camping gear off the bike and shipped it home.  I'm not really camping, so why carry the gear?

I laso went by Lowe's and got a dryer hose and fixed her dryer before I left.  I know Nick would have done it, but he's in flight school and hardly has the time.

I headed out, after saying my good bye's, at about 12.30.  And a long, long drive to Tampa.  I decided to take a picture every hour of the beautiful scenery, trees the whole way . . .

Hour 5  It's a beautiful green highway, but you can only see as far as the trees

Then I started coming into civilization, but notice the big things up in the sky in the distance.  Bud said it had been raining in Bradenton all day, I can see why

Hour 7- 8- and 9 ;-)

I pulled into Bud and G. Lee Jone's house at 10:45, no rain, and we immeaditely started telling war stories, his were much better than mine.  He flew F-105's out of Tahkli, Thailand to downtown Hanoi and the Chinese border.  Didn't get to bed until 1 am and slept like a baby!!!

A short day for blogging ;-)

Luke OUT!
