Day 22 Titusville (Kennedy Space Center) FL. - Monday, 7 July 2014 - Mileage 4200ish

It was pack up and drop Cindy off day, but we had a few errands to run first!  I had to go to the Key West Post Office to send a package home of the stuff I bought in town and go back to a store where something I had bought Jennifer, broke . . .  Cindy posted a good picture while she waited in front of the post office, of a batch of chickens running around.  I guess they keep them all over the city, because we saw them everywhere ;-)

Then we got on the road, and a beautiful, sunny drive it was across the Keys . . .

This is on 7 mile bridge

But off in the distance, the clouds are building . . .more on this later

Selfies at 65?  Then it started getting darker

And darker

and darker

And then it turned loose . . . and turn loose it did!

The up side was, that it wasn't a freezing rain, just the right temp and cooled down a 95 degree day.  But driving in this on a bike is no fun, so when we got off the Keys and into Florida City, we needed gas and lunch, so we hit a great Mexican Food place and waitied out the storm . . .a little . . .;-)

The bike was lonely in the rain . . . and when it slowed down, we pressed on!  We took Interstate 75 across the Everglades this time and in-between the rain, I got a couple of shots of what this part of the park looked like . . .

Of course, you could see the clouds building again :-(  And BAM we are back in it!

Well, after drying for a couple of more hours, I dropped CIndy off at her Aunt's house where I had left the rest of my gear.

And hit the road for the Kennedy Space Center.  It stayed daylight for another hour, then got dark as I passed Disney World.  Sorry for the blurred shot, I was moving . . .

Hey Mickey and Minnie!!!!

I rode on into Titusville FLA, into the blackest part of America!  Not a light anywhere, no street lights, the sky was cloudy, no porch lights, I mean DARK. I stopped for gas and called about 3 hotels and they were all sold out.  Finally found a Holiday Inn in Titusville and called it a night.  And that's how it was, that Monday, 7 July ;-)

LUKE Out!
